What really sets us apart is our style of banking, which dates to our beginnings in small town North Dakota. In 1969, we purchased a bank that had been a cornerstone of the Oakes business community since 1886, when Dakota was still a territory. We bought our Ellendale bank in 1970, and stayed in those two markets for 20 years before expanding to Bismarck and Mandan. In 2006, we grew to Madison, Wisconsin, and we proudly began serving Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo in March 2008.
