Established in 1896 by Colonel William N. Selig, the Selig Polyscope Company produced world class films and provided creative services to the motion picture industry the world over. In addition, the Selig Polyscope Company brought the new movie going audiences many “firsts”. Selig produced the first Westerns produced and shot in the West using real cowboys and real Native Americans. The studio produced the first films that used cliffhanger climaxes as well as the first Wizard of Oz and America’s first horror film. Today, over 120 years later, the Selig Polyscope Company continues to carry on Colonel Selig’s vision by providing best-in-class creative and professional services to businesses, small to large, non-profits and the motion picture industry to make our clients stand out on the world stage.
