Get to know our founder: Jessica earned her Associate's Degree in Animal Applied Science from the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2001. ​ By 2003, Jessica further advanced her professional merit by achieving her National Veterinary Technician Certification and earning the distinction of a Licensed Professional Veterinary Technician. Jessica would go on to earn positions at some of our nations top Veterinary Care and Surgical Centers. Her daily responsibilities included: Specialty Surgical Anesthesia Surgical Preparation and Assistance Post Operative Care and Pain Management Emergency Triage Laboratory Procedures Digital Radiography Dental Cleaning and Procedures Small Animal Nursing Exotic Animal Care Police K9 Emergency Care Administering Medications Providing Compassionate Care! Upon moving to Tyndall Airforce Base, Jessica found it nearly impossible to be hired within her perspective field. To put it simply, potential employers considered her over qualified. In other words, they prioritized not being able to match her pay grade over recognition of her passion and knowledge for animal care. As a devoted military spouse, her husband's service to our nation will always take precedence over her career. Determined to follow her professional calling, Jessica founded The Cozy Companion. With her experience and wealth of animal knowledge, she has designed The Cozy Companion with you and your pet in mind. The Cozy Companion provides specialized individual pet care, within the comforts of your loved one's personal stress free environment.
