New Bright Star B.C. was established in 1952 by Rev. R. A. Martin. Rev. Martin purchased a two room house for his son but used it to form the church. The church was given the name of New Bright Star by Sis. Martin, the pastor’s wife. New members were added to the church roll. Deacon Grant, Deacon Moorehead and Mr. Green Smith, was one of the first couple of new members. Later on we had the family of Deacon John Smith, Mayfield Green, Mother Butler and her husband Deacon Cassie Buckley, Sis. Effie Powell and family, Jim and Beulah Daniel, Sis. Lula Milton, and Willie and Vadelia Brown. Many members who were members of New Bright Star as children have returned and reunited with the church. They are: Bro. Elroy Smith, and Bro. Lamart Smith and his wife Joann, Sis. Marilyn Lee, and Sis. Mary Ann Lopez.
