Commenting Guidelines

We want to make sure every participant’s experience on Manta’s News & Advice site is positive and provides value. In order to maintain the integrity of the comments on Manta articles, we’ve established some basic participation guidelines.

  1. Make it count.
Be sure that your comments or questions are relevant for small business owners and the article you’re commenting on. We want comments to be on-topic and useful. Any links to external sites should be relevant to the content and should not be used to promote your own site or advertise products.
  2. Post cautiously.
Be aware that the comments are open to the public; do not post anything that you wouldn’t want your customers to see.  Also, please note that the accuracy and applicability of any content posted is the sole responsibility of the commenter.
  3. Stay positive.
All opinions are welcome, including those that are dissenting, as long as they are polite and respectful, and add value to the topic. When you post, be aware of how others may perceive comments (e.g., using all capital letters is often distracting and can be easily misinterpreted).
  4. Keep it clean.
Do not use profanity, offensive language or post content that is defamatory, offensive or violates the rights of others.
  5. Can the spam.
The content and the comments on Manta are here so people can learn, share experiences and ask questions. Do not spam others.

Manta reserves the right to remove any user comment, at any time, for any reason. If you feel that a post was removed unfairly, send us a message and we’ll be happy to review it with you.
