It’s a digital world, and searching online is the first place customers turn when they’re looking to hire a service provider, read a restaurant review or compare prices of products. But a website isn’t the only thing you need to maintain a healthy online presence.
- Is your website mobile-responsive? More and more people use smartphones to search, and if your website isn’t compatible, you’re likely to lose a customer because they can’t navigate your site.
- Make sure your business information is correct on online directories. Search to see if old phone numbers, incorrect addresses or the wrong office hours are listed. Maintaining consistency is key in SEO ranking as well.
- Update your website regularly. Add new content, new products or services, and don’t overload your homepage with details that don’t matter. Keep the design clean and the content fresh. If it looks like it did in 1998, change that up, too.
- Find out what social media platforms your customers use and create accounts there. Social may seem new-fangled to some, but it’s where a lot of people look when they have a question about a product or customer service issue. Make sure you’re available.
