YURI's Tennis
Yuri is a pirate coach. Meaning he doesn't pay for permits like every legitimate coach in San Francisco. Public courts are for the public, not for someone to monopolize and even threaten with bodily harm so that he can "keep the courts" for his lessons.
He is a bully to those who aren't paying customers.
Tennis is a gentleperson's game. It is about discipline, self-improvement,
good-sportsmanship, and good manners. Yuri is the anti-thesis to all of these.
Just don't encourage this kind of pirate activity and behaviour. If he wants to teach, pay the fee; or use private courts.
By the way, you can get "pro of the year" and USPTA certification, but if the USPTA found out how he behaves when non-customers wait for hours to get a court while he cycles through his students, and how he is actually in violation of city regulations he'll lose that support.
If you don't believe me, ask SF Park and Rec or one of their Park Rangers. An instructor must post reservation signs bearing the Park and Rec seal/date, and if you are one of his students, just ask him for the receipt for the permit fee. He wont have it.
Yes, it matters. Who do you want your kids learning from? An honest person who doesn't bully people just wanting to play tennis on a public court, or someone interested only in money and his business first.
It's such a shame as I have known his wife for decades, and she is a lovely person and a great contributor to the community in her work and life. Yes, I know them well, and I have witnessed the belligerent bullying.
