The mission of the Valley Shore YMCA is to develop and encourage the growth of all individuals in spirit, mind, and body in an atmosphere of The Valley Shore Y began serving the Shoreline in 1917. We taught swim lessons at area beaches and met for educational talks in local churches. In 1974, community leaders and partners came together to build our original permanent facility and celebrate the Valley Shore YMCA opening its doors to the Shoreline community. Fifty years and four facility expansions later, the Valley Shore YMCA has grown to be one of the community's largest nonprofits, serving more than 10,000 members each year. Founded on the Y's mission to serve all people through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body, the Valley Shore YMCA has become a community leader, engaging people of all ages and abilities with high impact programs and services.
