Most distribution services push the book out and leave promotion entirely to the author. NYT Distribution ran book marketing alongside the distribution process promotional content, keyword targeting, and platform visibility were active before the listings even went live. By launch day there was already awareness around the title. First week numbers reflected that overlap and the book kept getting discovered by new readers well past the initial launch window instead of dropping off after day three.

Had not considered library distribution at all before reaching out to NYT Distribution was only thinking about retail platforms and Amazon. They handled library network submission alongside retail distribution and the book ended up in library catalogues within a few weeks. Started getting borrow activity from readers who would never have found it through a store search. That audience was completely different from the typical online buyer and the exposure it created was a genuine addition to overall reach.

Had no idea distribution could reach that many platforms through a single process. NYT Distribution pushed the book out to over 70 local and international platforms Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Target, Google Books, Waterstones, Kobo, and several others. Every listing went up with the correct cover file, pricing, and metadata. No separate sign-ups, no platform-by-platform submissions, and nothing came back with a formatting rejection on any of them.
