Taft Homes was originally built in 1952 as temporary housing for returning Korean War Veterans. Since that time, the property had not seen major capital improvements, and the dense barrack style housing is no longer functional. The site consisted of 27 residential buildings and one management building, all of which will be demolished and replaced with a mix of residential buildings, community buildings and outdoor community space.
