Not long after he bought the land, I joined the military and was gone for 28 years, so until my father passed away in 2011, I hadn't seen it either. The very first time that I came here, I knew there was something special about this place. We have found numerous artifacts - some date back over 15,000 years. People have been hunting and gathering here for hundreds of generations. There's something special about this place, that drew those people here, and I feel it when I come here. Other people feel it too. I feel a strong need to share the place with other people. One of the best ways to share it is to provide hunting opportunities for trophy whitetail deer.
