The new Mold Program, under the direction of the New York State Department of Labor, went into effect on Jan. 1, 2016. Ever since, the state's Department of Labor has been responsible for enforcing Article 32 of the New York State Labor Law, which establishes licensing requirements and minimum work standards for professionals engaged in mold assessment and remediation. The 2 most important points of the law include: Protection against fraud by prohibiting the performance of both the assessment and remediation on the same property by the same individual/company; Protection against fraud by requiring an independent mold assessment to define the scope of the remediation work To this end, KD Environmental Consulting Services will only be performing these Mold Assessments and Mold Testing to provide superior unbiased service to my customers. We will not be handling remediations. Instead, we will do the best assessment possible and recommend a course of action for the best possible outcome. Following remediation work by another party, you can request a clearance inspection to determine the successful elimination of mold and efficacy of the cleanup.
