I needed an attic ladder installed. He obviously didn't read the instructions because he installed it incorrectly. Rather than using the correct, 3/8" lag bolts, he used drywall screws that were entirely insufficient for the job. He didn't cut the legs to length properly. He didn't cut the hole in the drywall correctly and it will require additional repairs. He also didn't correctly install the cross joists. The entire job was poorly executed and the ladder is unsafe. I will have to hire somebody to remove and reinstall it, assuming it wasn't badly damaged from the overtightened drywall screws. I didn't know he used the wrong hardware until after the job was done and I found the installation hardware in the trash.
