The PPG Paints Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena venue in Pittsburgh. It serves as the current home of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the NHL and was previously the home of the Pittsburgh Power of the Arena Football League from 2011 to 2014. The arena first opened to the public before the start of the 2010-11 NHL season and was built to replace Civic Arena, which had been originally built in 1961.
