The water heater seemed to be heating properly, but the hot water coming from the faucets was inconsistent. I also noticed bits of plastic collecting inside one of the faucet aerators. After having the system checked, the problem was traced back to a deteriorating dip tube. The old tube had broken down internally and pieces were traveling through the hot-water lines. Replacing the dip tube and cleaning the affected fixtures solved both problems. The water is now consistently hot, and I haven't seen any more plastic debris. It was a repair I wouldn't have known to look for myself.

We had already tried a few basic troubleshooting steps when our water heater continued shutting down. A technician came out and found that the exhaust vent was partially blocked. This turned out to be the real cause of the problem. He inspected the vent carefully and found debris restricting the exhaust path. After clearing it, he checked the surrounding connections and made sure the venting system was in good condition. I appreciated that he took the time to diagnose the issue instead of immediately recommending a replacement water heater. His explanation was easy to understand, and the repair was completed efficiently. The water heater has been much more reliable since then. I highly recommend Hot Water Heater Pasadena TX.
