Dr. Robert John, a board-certified oral maxillofacial surgeon, founded Troy Oral Surgery in 2024 and brings extensive medical expertise Dr. Robert John, a board-certified oral maxillofacial surgeon, founded Troy Oral Surgery in 2024 and brings extensive medical expertise to his private practice after leading previous practices in Oxford and Warren, Michigan.Born in Jamaica and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Dr. John holds honors degrees in chemistry and economics from the University of Toronto and graduated with honors from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He then went on to complete his residency at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Concurrently, he pursued a six-year oral maxillofacial surgery residency at the Detroit Medical Center while obtaining his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he served as chief resident. Immediately following, he completed a general surgery internship at St. John Hospital & Medical Center, where he was trained by top surgeons and physicians from across Metro Detroit.
