I have completed over approx. fifty moves; five of them being Inter-State moves. Everytime, everything went great. Only had 1 previous bad experience in 34 yrs. That being said, avoid this company at all costs! I signed a contract with Ernie for an inter-state move plus auto, and additional insurance on items for FULL replacement coverage. He promised all documents when I signed. Ernie was insistent that I pay in cash. Even coming to my home for the deposit in cash, Zelle, Cash-App, Venmo, etc. I refused all of this and used an Amex, which he tried to avoid. In the end, he accepted it since I was traveling. He passed the 3 percent fee on to me. Bringing the total cost to just over ten-thousand. I paid over Five-thousand at that time. Despite Ernie saying I am not a customer, I had a signed contract and made a payment. There were no insurance papers or proof of the policy we discussed attached to the contract. When I requested this, he told me it was a "computer glitch", later said that these papers are only provided "day of the move". I requested proof at the time of contract as agreed, and stated if this was not possible, I would need to DC the contract. Ernie then text images of his Co Freight Policy, in HIS name & dated seven months prior. Which he later confirmed via phone, was the yearly freight policy he pay $1500 for. Sorry, but freight insurance is always included on a move. I paid for an ADDITIONAL plan to cover my items at Full replacement costs, which would be in my name only. Ernie gave multiple excuses & wouldn't provide this; I sent a text informing him that I was not comfortable moving forward, please DC the contract, and refund the CC. That's when all hell broke loose. He proceeded to text me constantly, even after being repeatedly begged to stop and told that this was abusive and harassing. He called numerous times in between. When I did not answer his cell, he started using other random phones. He even sent a text after midnight! Ernie had a previous employer named Garmin, call to "handle me". Pretending to be Co-Owner with Ernie. This is stalker level behavior. Once I read the texts to him and told him about the situation, he confessed that he is not affiliated in any way with AYWM Co, and wanted out of this. Garmin said Ernie set him up to call me because I was not responding to his calls. But that he did not condone this behavior, and was backing out. On Google reviews, Ernie makes comments confirming having Garmin call me. When I posted a review on Thumbtack, he proceeded to write a novel of defensiveness. He posted defamatory statements about me, claiming I was mentally unwell and had "set him up". Ernie sent numerous texts, messages, posts, that I intentionally hired him for the sole intention of canceling the contract and messing with him. He framed his ongoing harassment of me as him "only trying to help". I even said I didn't want or need this help; just to stop. But he persisted so that, as he said, "Make you understand". Ernie claimed I made many statements in which I did not. I have a plethora of texts, call logs, and messages from this man to prove the ongoing harassment. At times, he would leave veiled threats. He threatened that if I didn't remove a review, that my "reputation would be destroyed". He also said comments like "May God have Mercy on your soul come judgement day", which I take as a threat of impending harm given the full context of the day(s). He sent long novels of texts & diatribes of how I was "attacking" him with a negative review. Throughout the communication, I was met with paranoia and false accusations in an attempt to keep one engaged so he can continue to rage out. When I sent him screen shots of the facts, he would gaslight me by going on to another problem he claimed I created. He also tried to DOX me knowing I am in an Address Confidentiality Program for DV, and doing this would bring danger and harm to me. Ernie even mocked my disability, and did all this knowing I'm treating at Cleveland Clinic for 9 days for a serious medical condition. If you hire him, you can expect what I have endured. Manipulation, threats, lies, ongoing relentless harassment, and absolutely NO ACCOUNTABILITY on his side. You will be targeted as the perpetrator of some egregious act towards this man if you speak out of context or cancel. He will subject you to belittling commentary, word-salad winding rants about why you are bad and he is good and how God will punish you. He comes up with wild narratives about you as a person, not knowing anything, and will share them online. You can expect him to charge you double the going rate for additional insurance coverage, and really pass off his standard freight policy to you while he pockets the money. You won't have coverage. You can also expect him to charge more because he has to rent all of his trucks and such from UHaul, since he does not own his own equipment.
