Dr. Van Husen joined Midland Surgical Associates in 2007, where he specializes in open-vascular, endovascular, and bariatric surgery. Additionally, he has held various positions with Texas Tech as an Associate Professor, a Clerkship Director, and the Head of Development of Surgical Residency for the Permian Basin. He received several awards during his Residency and Fellowship, and he has published numerous research articles in professional medical publications. Dr. Van Husen is leading the development of a Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery at Midland Memorial Hospital, and he is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, as well as a member of the Texas Surgical Society and the Permian Basin Medical Society. He did his pre-med studies at the University of Texas and completed a Bachelor's of Science in Business at Texas Tech University.
