I visited the Winter Garden office on June 06, 2025, and asked if they offered podiatry services. The receptionist told me they did, so we scheduled an appointment.
When I returned on June 11, I completed the intake forms, where I clearly stated that I was seeking treatment for dead skin removal and an ingrown toenail. Before being seen, the receptionist charged me the health insurance co-pay.
First, an assistant took photos of my feet. When Dr. Jacob Ivey came in, he briefly looked at me and said there was nothing he could do because I had no pain or inflammation. He explained that the service I was looking for was preventive care, and they do not offer that.
I went back to the front desk and requested a refund since I was charged for a service the clinic doesn't provide. The receptionist spoke with the doctor and advised me to call the billing department to request a refund.
I called the next day to request it, and the person I spoke with said they would talk to the supervisor. More than a week later, I still haven't received any response. All my follow-up calls have gone unanswered.
I feel I was treated unfairly and that it is not right to charge for a service the clinic does not offer. I am very disappointed with this experience.
