Can't give enough complements to the man's craftsmanship. The man is a Da Vinci of framing, a Michaelangelo of drywall, a Donatello of roofing, etc, BUT he has serious anger management issues, he has NO idea how to treat employees and he obviously operates under the mentality that everyone besides him is stupid. His attitude and personality towards underlings is AWFUL (especially if you are an absolute beginner) and his patience is extremely limited. I know because I worked for him for 1 year and 10 months. He promised to change his behavior at two different points only for me to realize that both times, I was the victim of a counteroffer (6 months later, everything would go south again). Not only this, but considering that McDonald's french fry cooks are making $17/an hour currently and considering that I was 26 years old when I first started with him, $14.75 an hour for work that hard and for the volume of work he expected out of one person is INSULTING (even for someone with no prior experience in remodeling). Wouldn't go back to work for this dude if you gave me a half-million dollars!
