The NC Boys Choir was founded in 1972 as the Durham Boys Choir by the present Musical Director, and designated the NC Boys Choir in 1983 by former Gov. James B. Hunt, Jr. Four choral groups comprise the organization: the Concert Choirboys, Chamber Choir of Tenor and Basses (high school-university), Girls Choir, and Training Choir. The Choir has sung often on the Duke and UNC campuses and with the NC Symphony Orchestra. Its local concerts often fill Duke University Chapel. The Concert Choir tours statewide, nationally, and internationally. The Choirboys attend Summer Music Camp in the mountains the last part of July each year.
