With my warm engaging style, we will quickly identify and address immediate concerns as well as core themes for deeper, lasting change. I am a seasoned psychotherapist, with 25+ years of clinical experience. My style is positive and transparent: I believe an authentic therapist-client relationship is essential. Borrowing from family systems, attachment & cognitive-behavioral theories, I work actively and directly, without sacrificing my clients' comfort. My open, engaged style and my careful attention to developing and maintaining trust, enable me to work deeply and effectively in shorter time frames. While I address immediate concerns, my approach is to help clients work with core themes, so they can achieve deeper, lasting change. Most clients are surprised to find how quickly they are able to change well-established patterns through this kind of work. Specialties: My expertise is in helping clients reshape relational dynamics- whether working with an individual or a couple, and whether the issues surround a partner or family member(s). I also have significant experience intervening with individuals and couples "on the brink" of separation or divorce. In addition to relational work, I have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, and addiction recovery- including impact on partner and/or family. I work with diverse populations, and have expertise with individuals, couples, LGBT, and military families.
