My name is Debra Streisel, and I am a licensed mental health counselor and national certified counselor specializing in clinical counseling and psychotherapy. While I am trained and experienced in assessing, diagnosing and treating the full spectrum of mental illnesses, I also frequently partner with clients whose specific goals are better met with a coaching strategy. Therapeutically I borrow from several different schools of thought. I tend to work from a perspective that includes practical skills (such as are found within the realm of Cognitive Behavioral or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and believe many people can find relief of their symptoms within a brief time frame. I also firmly believe each person has multiple strengths and that experiencing a truly therapeutic relationship is an important factor in causing lasting changes.
