We do not recommend Robin Zollar in any capacity you might encounter her. We did business with her RB Estate Sales. Our overall experienced with the her & the company (owned by Robin Zollar) can be summarized as poor communication and no follow through. This led to increased stress during an already difficult situation. Because we have never done an estate sale before and because we live out of state, communication was very important to us. We verbally agreed to hire Robin in the middle of October 2021, meeting with her at my Aunts home. When we first met we were told our sale was to be held after she completed one pending sale, but with no specific date commitment. Be wary of this type of commitment. It wasn't until the week before that she finally let us know the sale would be on December 10. During this two month period we repeatedly asked her for her contract. We eventually received a very simplistic document that did not cover many of the bullet points we had discussed in person, namely that she would sell, donate or dispose the items left over after the sale. We understood that some items wouldn't sell we would be responsible for any fees necessary to dispose of non-sellable items. After the sale was complete, Robin held the proceeds of the sale, in the form of personal checks, for over a month before mailing them to us. She sold a vehicle for us at a good price which was really helpful, however she accepted a personal check for over $11K for the sale of the car (which is risky) and then did not forward the check to us for over a month. We had a scary week before the bank would clear that check. With the sale over we waited many weeks while she arranged for the remaining unsold items in the house to be donated. Robin had a group come through and inspect the remaining items. Robin neglected to tell us that this group wanted exclusive control over all the items remaining in the home. They apparently began marketing the items online while they were still in the home. Again, we were not made aware of this as we thought the remaining items were to be donated. As a side note, since we are out of state we have heavily relied on a neighbor to keep an eye on the house, collect mail, do some light maintenance etc. As a thank you to them we offered them access to any of the items still remaining in the house since they were to be donated anyway. They did pick up two end tables, a dresser and a few knickknacks. When the donation group returned to box and load items for donations, they noticed items "missing" and complained to Robin, who in turn complained to me. I express my confusion as, in my view, it was all for donation. I wasn't aware that Robin entered into an exclusive arrangement involving selling items directly from the home. I don't have an issue with this, but if we had known we would not have offered items to the neighbors. Since the donations group didn't have the full home inventory they expected to sell, they declined to do any further work at clearing out the house. We asked Robin if she would continue to assist to clear the house with the original, or another contact, and she said no. She had said in our initial contact, she would coordinate clearing the home, but she reneged on the commitment. We felt abandoned as we didn't understand that we had done anything wrong at giving away items that we thought were going to be donated anyway. After Robin dropped out of helping further, she told us that she didn't like us asking questions and that we obviously didn't understand how these sales work. We 100% agree that we don't understand her business, and this is why we were asking for communication about the next steps. At this time the house is still full of items. We are are now trying to figure out how to empty out the house at long distance. Sadly, clearing the house was the reason we employed RB Zollar Estate Sales.
