NDMA is a great family martial arts school offering Tae Kwon Do, Karate and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. Keep in mind, not all martial arts programs are the same.
Having taught in various schools over the last two decades, I can personally attest that some schools "sell" belts solely for profit, testing students automatically every two months regardless of the student’s actual abilities or improvements.
After 30 years in the arts, I've seen it all and am upfront about certain things - just because a school looks authentic, doesn’t mean it is, especially if there are students earning black belts in just two years.
One thing we are not is a "kinder-gym," where instructors focus more on games instead of actual martial arts. Our students are led to become well-rounded in all aspects of the martial arts, not just sparring or performing demos. They learn self defense from their first class as well as the philosophy of respect.
At NDMA, I guarantee you will EARN yours while growing as a person, expanding your Knowledge in the Mind, Honesty in the Heart and Strength in the Body. At Ninth Dragon, we’ve returned to the heart and traditions one expects of the martial arts, centered on personal growth and maturity.
You’ll learn that it is not as much about the belt rank as it is about family, friendship and doing the right thing as good person.
In fact, community service projects are a requirement for promotion to Black Belt. Our colored belts are also formally recognized by us for their leadership efforts in the community.
I personally invite you to experience the authentic, character building martial arts of Ninth Dragon Martial Arts, where we develop excellent citizens, one black belt at a time.
