Rel Comm was first founded in 1985 by Robert Murray as a DBA under the name Reliable Communications. The primary business in those early days was to buy and sell used Nortel Phone Systems and associated Telecommunication Equipment on a nationwide basis. The company used to have full page color ads in Telecom Gear a national Magazine.
As Reliable Communications grew there were more requests from Companies seeking Installation and Maintenance for their existing Nortel Telephone Systems.
The first sale made as a new company was to Champion Products in Rochester New York. Within 2 years Reliable Communications incorporated and became Rel Comm Inc. Larger Customers such as Sibley’s Department Stores, Champion Products and Taylor Instruments all contracted Rel Comm to maintain their Telecommunications Systems throughout the state of New York.
Over time there were more requests from Companies to provide quotations for new Phone systems and in 1999 Rel Comm signed a dealer agreement with Inter-Tel a Telecommunication Systems Manufacture located in Chandler Arizona.
In the next 10 years Rel Comm became one of the top 10 Inter-Tel dealers in the Country.
Around 2010 Inter-Tel was acquired by Mitel and Rel Comm became a Mitel Dealer.
Rel Comm has been one of Mitel’s Elite 50 Partners since 2008 and has over 1,000 installation to date.
Our strength in the industry is having a strong technically competent team to manage large and small installations and to provide reliable support after the project is complete.
