Vibration Engineering Consultants (VEC) is a privately held firm of vibration, magnetic field, and acoustic noise specialists dedicated to meeting the needs of the high-tech, microscopy, and research industries. As experts in the field, VEC is experienced in the evaluation, design, and retrofitting of new and existing facilities including fabrication facilities and clean rooms. VEC works directly with site owners, architectural firms, construction firms, and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) throughout all phases of the design and construction process to ensure that sites meet the stringent specifications of sensitive tools and equipment. VEC works with OEMs and site owners to survey potential site locations for vibration, acoustic, and electromagnetic suitability prior to an investment in a new microscope or sensitive piece of equipment. If issues are identified during a survey, VEC will work with the site owner and other key stakeholders to resolve identified issues as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. For electromagnetic field issues, VEC can design, install, and tune a Spicer Consulting magnetic field cancellation system to bring both AC and DC electromagnetic fields within specification. In addition, VEC provides services to OEMs to solve vibration, electromagnetic field, and acoustic problems and develop specifications used by facility planners to assess potential tool placement locations. VEC can also independently verify stiffness of key structural components used in the micromanufacturing industry. In support of these analytical services, an elaborate measurement laboratory is maintained to conduct site surveys and vibration testing. VEC offers services from their office located in the Bay Area and Houston and will travel worldwide to meet its customer’s needs.
