This company is a scam. I got nothing but constant calls and emails from them until I signed the contract. Now, they won't respond. In July 2017 we paid $695 to Resort Owner Resales to sell our timeshare property. The sales rep was James. He supposedly only deals with timeshares at the company my property was with, so he was supposed to be an expert in getting it sold. He told me that the longest any of his owners had to wait for a sale was 7 months. He told me that I needed to move fast because the Daytona 500 was coming up (or whatever other popular event was happening at the time) and they needed to get my property into the schedule because it was the ideal time to get it sold. You can see the exact wording here from an email that he sent me on May 5, 2017: "I've never had a unit sit longer than 7 months and that was a package for 4 weeks almost 50,000 resale.I am just here to help and after our talk I know you guys need to move it thats why I was so aggressive.I mentioned as well we've dealt with thousands of owners and if we weren't successful we wouldn't be here.Let me know what you want to do as said I am here to help.Summer is upon us and if you want to get this moved every Holiday etc is vital to market to more people" My story is the same as other complaints posted in various locations. He called and/or emailed me every day for weeks until I signed the contract, and then all the calls stopped! I called them a few times and complained and every time they said it was being looked at by prospective buyers. I have repeatedly asked to see proof of their marketing and sales attempts and have never been provided with anything - except a link to where, on their website, I can go to see a tiny little text listing of my property. I have been provided with no additional evidence that they have been actively promoting my property or trying to sell it. After several months, we eventually reached a point where I could not get a response from them. I would send James emails asking for status updates, or would call him and leave voice messages, and he would never respond. Once in a while if I would threaten to file a complaint, would he briefly respond with an email saying the same thing -- that they were still working trying to sell the property. He has never returned any of my calls since I signed the contract. When he does choose to respond it is only by a one sentence email. I still have all email correspondence with them if anyone wants to see it. It is now 2 years 6 months later, and my timeshare still has not been sold, and still can't get responses from James. To make matters worse, yesterday, I received a text message from someone named Glenn wanting me to contract with them to sell my timeshare: "Hello my name is Glenn with Resort Owner Resales. If you are finally ready to sell your timeshare with a reputable company that is licensed bonded and insured, then call/tx me now for more information about myself and my firm...". Essentially, the same stuff I heard 2.5 years ago from James. I can't believe that after supposedly having an active contract with them, that I am being contacted by their sales rep, acting like they don't even know who I am.
