I'm not one to go on a website and write bad reviews but I feel that I must about this one. I had a blue spruce that I needed trimming. The work was was done by another person on his crew not the owner himself. Let me say the finished product was less than desirable. When I told him that the worker topped the tree he said that that should never be done to a spruce. When I told the owner about the issues surrounding the work done his response was " that this guy has been doing this for 20 years, so it must have been what I instructed him to do". First off if you're an expert in something and I tell you to do something that might damage the tree wouldn't you make an effort as the expert to explain the process? The owner had no problems telling me that so why did the worker proceed to do something that in his "20 years" of expertise told him not to do? Which by the way I did not ask him to do. I asked him to bring the height down about 2ft to avoid utility wires. He basically took a saw and chopped the top of the tree off. Really!! Which if done properly, the character and shape of the tree would remain in tact. Wow, 20 years of expertise at it's best. And to make matters worse I asked him to cut back the branches on the bottom so that the branches don't touch the ground. Instead he cut all the bottom branches off the tree and cut them all the way back to the stump so the chance of that area filling in again is very low. My tree needless to say will never be the same and even more upsetting is that the blame was put on me as if I forced this "expert" to chop up my tree. No attempt was made to resolve my dissatisfaction. But he did at least apologize that I was not happy with the results. Nothing was done to try and make the situation right. I plan to wait to see if it improves by next year. If not, down it comes. I'm sure this company may have other areas of expertise but I found trimming and shaping a blue spruce was not one of them.
