Comcast gets such a bad rap, I feel compelled to share our excellent experience during a really rough time. Our home had a catastrophic fire the week before Christmas and we were left without much of anything. In the numbness of cancelling services, all it took was one phone call and the briefest of explanations to the first Comcast rep we spoke to. She cancelled the remainder of the service without penalty, fully refunded the month, assured us that we discussed not need to return anything to them, and was appropriately professional and sympathetic. Although I wouldn't recommend a disaster like this to test customer service in the world, I was pleasantly surprised to know how compassionately this situation was handled. It's still nice to have human beings on the other end of those phone lines. Thanks, Comcast.
