I just switched from Comcast because of their terrible customer service.  I now know that other companies are cheaper, friendlier, and have faster Internet.  Someone moved into my apartment building and accidentally gave the wrong apartment number.  They turned off my Internet without asking me if I had actually moved and then refused to believe that I actually still lived in my apartment.  After several phone calls and many hours of my time, I could not convince them that they had made a simple clerical error and I really wanted to PAY them money for Internet.  I never once had a late payment and was a good customer for years, but this was ridiculous.  One of my many phone calls later, I got the supervisor who was rude and really nasty to me.  She told me that since their system already had a different customer name at my address and they could not locate that person, then I must not live there and there was nothing she could do about reconnecting my service.  I explained that I actually was trying to GIVE them money and that I was not trying to get free service and she just did not want to hear about how they just had the wrong information in their computer.  She said that was not possible. I offered to fax a copy of my lease to prove I was at the address and was told I would get a phone call back.  I never heard back.  I then contacted Burlington Telecom and had faster cheaper service in less than 24 hours.  Amazing.
