I probably wasn’t thinking clearly, but when I shut the car door behind me, I knew at that very moment that I was doomed. The keys were locked inside and I was out in the dark desolate highway. I wasn’t sure what lock I needed, a friend suggested going the old-fashioned way and using a padlock, whereas a neighbor recommended getting a deadbolt installed.
