The Red Rock Ditch Association, Inc. is an Arizona nonprofit corporation. Located off the Upper Red Rock Loop Road in Sedona, AZ, The Red Rock Ditch Association is an unincorporated group organized by Fred Schuerman in the 1960’s for the sole purpose of maintaining and clearing the irrigation ditch for the benefit of its members. Originally called The Courthouse Rock Ditch Right; it was filed by Heinrich Schuerman on October 15, 1889. Today the association is an Arizona nonprofit corporation operated on a nonprofit basis to keep the ditch flowing for the benefit of its members. A main purpose of the association is to fairly apportion the costs of yearly cleaning of the ditch among the members. These costs are paid through annual assessments and occasional special assessments. The members of the association shall consist of the owners of property who are entitled to water from the Red Rock Ditch. The properties entitled to water are those that historically have received water from the Red Rock Ditch. Membership shall run with the land with such properties.
