Bear Down Builders was the firm we hired to put an addition onto the front of our house, beginning in May of this year. Anthony was the first contractor to come out for an estimate, and right away he “got” what we were trying to do here. The addition included a kiva (bee hive) fireplace in the extended living room, an extension of the existing carport, and a fully covered front porch done in Territorial style. If you could take a look at the Before and After pictures, you’d see how Ho-Hum became Stunning in 2 short months, thanks to Anthony and his crew. And they were a lot of fun to have around. In addition, they built the fireplace “from scratch”, and I like it much better than the “kit” picture I’d sent him as a template. Same thing with the new front door and its accompanying sidelights, the chimney, and the Territorial “corbels” on the front porch pillars ~ all original. Our project was completed within our budget, and no major delays; there were a couple problems getting materials on time, but those were manufacturing issues, not Bear Down Builders. Anthony always kept me in the loop, and returned texts/phone messages right away. He was also very good at offering creative suggestions that substantially improved our project. No question we’d hire Anthony and his crew again. Based on our experience, you can’t go wrong with these guys!
