The best in non-diagnostic 3D 4D HD ultrasound and a curated boutique of gifts for mom and baby. What is an Elective Ultrasound? The term “elective ultrasound” simply refers to an ultrasound that is not ordered by your doctor or midwife. An elective ultrasound is a perfect way to get a little extra keepsake of this fleeting, but special moment in your life. What Can Elective Ultrasound Do? Confirmation of Pregnancy Our scans start at 6 weeks, when we can measure baby and see a heartbeat. If you have irregular cycles, this gives an estimated due date. Reassurance Scan If mom is feeling anxious, having the ability to get a quick ultrasound at any time during pregnancy can be very calming. Keeping stress level low is important for mom and baby. Gender Determination With specialized skills that are not taught to general sonographers, our lead sonographer has thousands of correct gender determinations in a row, starting at 13 weeks of pregnancy. 3D 4D HD Live Imaging Using top tier equipment and software, Wonder Time has the ability to get stunning images and video of babies in the womb! Years of working with obstetrical patients (and being obstetrical parents!) have given us unique insight into what moms love and hate about their ultrasound experience. Is Elective Ultrasound Safe? Ultrasound Safety Ultrasound technology has been used for over 20 years and has an excellent safety record. It is based on non-ionizing radiation, so it does not have the same risks as X-rays or other types of imaging systems that use ionizing radiation. Our Standards We operate our equipment at the safest level. All ultrasounds are limited in time according to the gestational age of the baby. The anatomy scan you have at 20 weeks is more than twice the scan time and acoustic output of any of our sessions. Simply put, we set stricter safety standards for elective ultrasound than most diagnostic ultrasounds.
