A Mind to Grow is a locally home childcare that was founded June 2013 and is owned and operated by Tonya Small. Our Philosophy is to empower knowledge into the minds of children while their brains are still developing. We promise to provide a safe, loving, and healthy environment for preschoolers and school age kids. Our curriculum is based on Piaget and Erikson theories. We the teachers are knowledgeable at building each child’s social-emotional, language, cognitive skills, and physical development in a safe, nurture, fun, and educational environment. We will continue to grow through education, but through your children as well for they are our biggest teachers. Parents and other family members are always welcome to come visit their child/children and volunteer when your schedule permits. Here at A Mind to Grow we serve all people who are in need of services regardless of religious affiliation, race, sex, age, creed, color, national origin, or marital status.

The Playhouse originated in 2010 as a five-star family child care home. In 2020, we opened a Community Based Organization, The Playhouse Academy located inside North Baptist Church. We currently offer remote learning for students to help support academic success and growth for all students.
