We had K&K Cleaning Service come to our home today for a “deep clean” before our daughter’s first birthday party. We have a new build home that we moved into less than 5 months ago - we do daily maintenance but really wanted it perfect for our little girl’s celebration. Well the evening before the scheduled cleaning (that I booked 3 weeks prior) I was told I needed to Venmo as soon as the cleaning crew arrived to my home - should have been a red flag, but I figured it’s a small business and they have to protect themselves. The cleaning job was $200 and I tipped 20%. The job was average at best. Our floors weren’t cleaned well - I actually came home from work today and scrubbed everything that was missed -, sinks were totally missed, half the trashes were emptied and the other half weren’t (but they did leave a bag of trash sitting out in my home when we have 2 small dogs that could have easily gotten into it), the handles on all of our appliances weren’t done, we were promised green cleaning products and they weren’t used. I could go on, but I think you get the point. When I contacted Kim and asked for partial refund because the job was so poor she told me they don’t give refunds (something she failed to mention before this) and offered to come “fix what was missed”. She also asked why my husband didn’t tell them they weren’t doing a good job when he was popping in and out from running errands with our 12 month old. Frankly, we don’t have time for a “re-clean” and I had already cleaned everything that was missed before contacting her. Would you be okay with letting someone back in your home after the first job they did was poor? She then offered my 30% off my next clean - which will never happen. I’d say avoid this company at all costs. She wasn’t up front or honest about any of their “policies” and I wasted $200 (+tip) for a mediocre house cleaning.
