Let's start with a little history and a tons of explanations: Zomick's was founded in April 1966, by David and Mark Zomick. While the two brothers didn't have any initial experience in baking they made sure to hire some of the best baking masters. And they had a little secret - they wanted to transform Zomick's into Zomick's Kosher Bakery. Adding the status "Kosher" isn't that easy. So they made sure they will do everything in their power. By the beginning of the 70's, Zomick's became famous as Zomick's Bakery. The little money they had saved they used it on improving the quality of the baked foods. So they actually researched and found a "Golden Recipe" from the famous Jewish Bakers from the 19th century. They called it "The Zomick's Challah Recipe" and it is still used today for the famous Zomick's Challah Bread.
This gave them a remarkable advantage over the competitors, and soon they received the Kosher sign. Becoming Zomick's Kosher Bakery was achieved only by the little Zomick's Bread called Zomick's Challah Bread.
The new line of Zomick's Challah's was praised by the customers and was well adopted. It was considered to be healthier than the regular bread, and that is actually true - because the bread is made from natural ingredients only.
At first they were famous in Cedarhurst, New York. But by the end of the 90's - they hit National fame.
