Hired Joe Loyola to do AC replacement on 5-4-22. Gave him a 4k advance to help get necessary equipment (more than he asked for in the estimate). Had used him before for minor repairs and felt comfortable with the 4k advance at the time. He missed 3 commitment dates to install and failed to communicate with me about the reason for missing those dates. Informed him I did not trust him and wanted my deposit returned. Went to his house and confronted him on Wednesday May 11. I asked to see the receipt for the equipment he claimed he had used my deposit to purchase. He could not produce a receipt. He claimed he failed to get one on $4,300.00 worth of equipment. Asked him to get in the car with me and go to the supplier and explain what happened. He refused. Finally, he promised to return my 4k deposit by Friday May 13. Have called him everyday since. Returned to his house on May 17 to confront him. He would not answer the door or come out of the house. He was home because I saw the kids come out the side door and get in their ride to school. Knocked on the door for 20" and he refused to come out to talk to me. Called 911 to report his fraudulent behavior. Deputy Sheriff showed up and knocked on the door. He would not come out. Deputy told me I would have to go to small claims court. Have sent a demand letter USPS. Headed to small claims court next Wednesday May 25th. He has my 4k and is apparently scared to face me, a 72 year old crippled man. No work ever performed and no equipment has been purchased. This is absolutely shameful behavior. Do not make the same mistake I did and use this business.

On December 14, 2020, Joe Loyola, doing business as Ultimate Climate Control, requested $2,500 deposit of a $3,944 total job estimate. The job was to replace some HVAC equipment in the attic. Joe Loyola stated that the $2,500 was for materials only. I paid him $2,500 the following day and he stated he would pick up the material that day and complete the job within two days. I called back two days later, and he stated that some of the materials were damaged and needed to be returned. Since then, I have called, texted and emailed him continuously, but he refuses to respond. Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, DEA, Jefferson Parish District Attorney complaints have been filed. Civil litigation in progress against Joseph "Joe" Loyola doing business as "Ultimate Climate Control".
