Dr. Bret Adams grew up in the Washington, DC suburbs and completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at the University of Richmond. He went on to obtain both his MD and PhD at the Medical College of Virginia/VCU School of Medicine, focusing his research on developing drugs to improve the effectiveness of radiation.
