One star is too many for this monument to greed.
Back in 2018, I was sold a one year package for $1,700 promising searchable results, a specific webpage, and SEO. While the listing went live after two weeks, and nothing. No incoming phone calls, no client support, to sales follow up.
Low and behold, with not email notification, no paper billing, no contact from their sales department, I was called to collect on the new contract. I refused to pay and blocked all their calls. After three months of calls with no letup I asked for an invoice to confirm the existence of the auto renewal contract I had signed. I had to send my request via the BBB to get an invoice sent to me.
Once the bill was sent, they again called to collect on the new contract. I told them that since it took Jewish Marketing Solutions six months to bill me, I had six months to pay them. I have not been called since.
Buyer beware, do your homework, and do not purchase any advertising until you have created your own listings with Google, Facebook, Bing, Manta, and Yelp. Do not give anyone your debit or credit card if they call you with an offer of 'free' advertising. The rest of the listing companies bounce off those five listings.
Why Jwiz.com so poorly maintains their website is beyond me. There are 18 results in my primary search category and only seven are featured companies: That means 60% of their listings have declined to renew this last year. I was told they had an 85% renewal rate. Of course, with auto renewal contracts, they spend a lot of time making collection calls.
What did Poor Richard say, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." A little customer support goes a long way. In my business, we do lose clients, but our retention rate is much better than the forty percent reflected in my research.
