We tailor our work to help meet our clients’ individual needs - from birth preparation classes, to doula support for labor and birth, to in-home support and care during the newborn/postpartum period. We believe EVERYONE deserves compassionate, inclusive, trauma-informed, non-judgmental support and advocacy during the perinatal time! We have particular specialties in supporting: 1) People who are members of oppressed groups who want to have a pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience where they feel seen, heard, comfortable, and safe. 2) People giving birth in a hospital who still want to have a more holistic, whole-person experience (whether or not pain medication is planned or used). 3) Parents who have experienced a long or challenging fertility journey (including pregnancy loss, infertility, assisted reproductive technology, surrogacy, and more). 4) People experiencing medically complicated pregnancies We are trained doulas (like a birthing coach) and have taken extensive continuing education courses since beginning our practice in 2014. We have a special interest in supporting members of oppressed groups including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. We believe that pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum and newborn time are unique journeys for each person and each family. Our approach is flexible and nuanced, never rigid or black-and-white. We offer nonjudgmental support to each person we work with, offering a safe space to experience and express the full range of emotions that this time of life can bring. Having stable, skilled support during a time of so many unknowns and transitions can help you have the most positive experience possible. We honor your transition into parenthood as a rite of passage, not just as a series of medical events.
