Murus Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are ideal for Green Building projects, as they are environmentally friendly and are proven to significantly reduce heating and cooling expenses. SIPs consist of a rigid foam insulation core that is bonded between two layers of rigid sheathing, referred to as "skins." Murus SIPs are manufactured with rated skins and are capable of supporting axial and transverse loads. Oriented strand board (OSB) is the most widely used skin material for structural applications due to its competitive cost, availability of sizes, and volume produced. OSB is produced from fast growing, renewable trees which reduce the strain on the nation's forests.
