Indicator Engineering PLLC (Indicator) delivers advanced hydraulic, hydrologic and geomorphic analyses at all project phases to develop well considered solutions and reliable long-term projects. Pat Flanagan, PE founded Indicator to deliver analyses and designs to public works projects in Washington that are accurate and reliable, while being developed in an efficient manner with the needs of the client, public and stakeholders in mind.
At Indicator we listen, understand, investigate and confirm through ground-truthing our clients’ needs for every project. No project is exactly alike, Indicator develops analyses and solutions to meet each project’s objectives.
To accomplish this efficiently, Indicator relies on our broad experience working on hydraulic and hydrologic projects in Washington. Indicator has provided leadership and technical expertise during each project phase: data collection; planning studies to identify problems or data gaps; performing detailed hydraulic, hydrologic and geomorphic analyses; developing and comparing alternative solutions; designing clear and constructible bid-ready plans; providing construction oversight; and monitoring performance. Our broad and technical experience allows us to answer analytical questions for the project more accurately, while clearly communicating the results to the project team.
Our engineers are involved in projects from start to finish with few transitions compared to other consulting firms. This translates to better project continuity and more successful projects. We provide solutions more efficiently by better knowing how the individual project tasks fit together and how each will be used, which allows us to develop our initial analyses such that they can be readily applied in the design phase. Our engineers have developed broad skills that have been recognized for both technical analysis and communication, as well as for our clear designs by inspectors and contractors during construction.
We have experience providing hydraulic engineering services on over $50 million of constructed local agency projects in Washington that have successfully provided reliable low-maintenance solutions. Our expertise includes a wide range of conveyance systems from large rivers (Skagit, Nooksack, etc) to mid-size creeks, small ephemeral streams to city wide stormwater and combined basins.
