Dr. DeMonaco currently serves as the Chief of the Division of Hematology-Oncology and the co-chair of the Cancer Committee at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. One of Dr. DeMonacos primary interests is doctor-patient communication. During his fellowship, he participated in a dedicated program funded by the National Cancer Institute with the goal of helping oncologists-in-training improve their communication skills with patients who have a serious illness.
