This is not a Class A parking garage. It is a free-for-all.
Recently, I arrived around 10:00 p.m. to work in my office and encountered a woman in neon lingerie on the rooftop level apparently engaged in some kind of transaction with a man who could barely stand upright.
Last month, two people were struck by a pickup truck inside this garage. To my knowledge, the driver continues to have access to the facility.
Also last month, my freshly painted vehicle was keyed during my normal daily parking routine. Management showed no interest in helping identify who was responsible or in taking meaningful steps to discourage this kind of behavior.
I now photograph the license plates of the vehicles parked on either side of me every morning and evening in case my vehicle is damaged again. That is an absurd precaution for a longtime monthly tenant to feel compelled to take, and it says a great deal about the level of security and accountability in this garage.
If one of the adjacent spaces is empty when I arrive, I even have to make a separate trip downstairs during the workday to document whatever vehicle later parks beside me. Today, I was too busy doing my actual job to make that mid-day trip. Sure enough, when I returned to my vehicle, there was a fresh, deep gouge in the door paint.
Do I expect management to care? At this point, no. Do I think repeated inaction in the face of ongoing incidents is becoming increasingly difficult to excuse? Absolutely.
This is very much a "not our problem-fend for yourself" type of facility. Park and walk at your own risk. I am extremely disappointed by the garage's lack of concern for the safety and protection of its longtime monthly tenants and by its apparent willingness to tolerate conduct that is completely inconsistent with the standards one would expect from a professionally managed downtown parking facility.
