If you are thinking about Springhouse Village as a place for you or your loved ones, please keep reading. Don't base your decision on the new buildings and decorations. In the year my 94-year-old mom has been there I have experienced constant frustration with their leadership. No communication about urgent health issues, agonizingly slow follow-through on requests for information or maintenance of my mom's room, unlocked security doors, leaders and employees having conversations about clients in public spaces. Right now, my mom is in the hospital with a broken hip. Because of their failure to communicate, it was 2 days before the news reached me in Kansas City. My assessment: more marketing than leadership, more profit motive than caring, and more excuses than accountability. I'll tell the story of my family's experience to anyone who wants to hear it. You should have all the information you can before you sign over any of your loved one's care or decide to work for Springhouse Village.
