Sidle should lose his license, stop practicing medicine, as he is absolutely incompetent. I had very specific, conservative goals, yet Sidle butchered me like cattle in a slaughterhouse. Sidle replaced my minor cosmetic adjustment with a forced 4.0+ hour total functional nasal reconstruction, demolishing 80%+ of my natural anatomy: nasal bones/dorsal lines entirely shaved off, wood-hard thick rib pieces taken out of my chest were inserted along the full septal length like two chopsticks, pitanguy ligaments in tip severed, lateral cartilage and crura resected and/or removed, radix erased, caudal septum amputated, columella shortened, thinned and severely traumatized, retreating all the way to the septum, voluminous cartilaginous area in the midvault amputated, mucosa severely and irreversibly damaged. Sidle damaged my blood supply along the entire length of nose, beyond the point of recovery, leading to soft tissue atrophy... Then that POS took a coblation device and burnt the insides of my nose with plasma, causing permanent damage to submucosal glands, stroma and cilia, leading to severe dryness, excessive open space inside nasal cavities and, ultimately, morbid condition called "empty nose syndrome" (ENS), respiratory distress, sleep apnea and other nasty health issues that this "doctor" has created for me. This is how I was treated in a 4.0 hour! functional septorhinoplasty procedure that was medically unnecessary, functionally and aesthetically damaging, completely premeditated by Douglas Sidle at Northwestern Memorial. Sidle reasonably knew he was going to hurt me, and proceeded. He issued the wrong diagnosis, unbeknownst to me, to force those medically unnecessary procedures on me, to get to my insurance money, train his fellows/residents. Violation of Human Rights. It was not only Sidle in the oproom. Half of the assault came from Sidle's ghost surgeon, an unsupervised AAFPRS fellow - a rampant violation of AMA Principles of Medical Ethics that state, "if a resident or other physician performs the procedure under nonparticipatory supervision, the patient should be fully informed of this fact", "a surgeon who allows a substitute to operate on his or her patient without the patient's knowledge and consent is deceitful". Of course, Sidle has billed my insurance tens of thousands dollars for those medically unnecessary harmful procedures. Sidle himself has boosted his own payday by $9K+, billing my insurance company the so-called "professional charges" for those medically unnecessary functionally damaging maneuvers. Interestingly, before and right after the surgery, Sidle told me that he "didn't need to do much on me", and that he "won't bill insurance". Sidle and its hospital billed my insurance a total of $70k! Cosmetic results? - alar rims retracted 1cm, nose shortened by 1cm, soft tissues underneath the skin completely atrophied, damaged or amputated lateral cartilage, nasal valves collapsed. Normal nose thus became a pinocchio-looking and pinocchio-feeling dysfunctional nose. I do not look like myself anymore. With ENS, severe dysautonomia with daily sickness and vomiting due to respiratory distress has followed. This is a nightmare. Sidle does a lot of intentional harm by premeditatively pushing medically unnecessary harmful procedures on his patients, as you can see from other Sidle's patients reviews over the last decade. In 2001-2002, Sidle's actions as an intern at Northwestern during the neck surgery of a patient, have led to the death of that patient, with a few million paid to the patient's estate and lawyers after the jury trial. See case # 2003-L-011241 filed in Cook County on 09-19-2003. Some people don't change, and Sidle is a good example. To sum it up, Sidle's true qualification is taking a healthy normal functioning nose and converting it into a nonfunctional pinocchio-like structure with severe respiratory distress, to charge your insurance. Sidle's true calling is swiping the Chicago alleys, and absolutely not treating patients. Sidle doesn't know what he is doing to the living beings that happen to go to him. All I feel now is a severe trauma to my upper respiratory function and my face. All I see now are debilitating amputations forced by this dishonest surgeon(s) at assumedly "reputable" institution in Chicago. It was a battery, not a routine surgery: Sidle and his ghost surgeon have ripped me off of my health, destroyed my good aesthetics, robbed thousands of dollars from my insurance. Sidle's corruption will 100% guarantee you injury and harm to health and aesthetics. This "physician" may call himself a "nasal architect" but essentially, Sidle is a charlatan who would do anything to make money from you. Sidle's narcissistic personality disorder, also known as god complex, makes him think that other people are just the objects to do with as Sidle pleases, to complete his personal objectives. Stay away from this imposter, charlatan and POS.

I had a revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Sidle and I couldn't be happier that I picked him and his team for my surgery. I had a nose job done elsewhere in Chicago with a very upsetting outcome that affected me mentally, physically, and emotionally. I finally took the steps to get a revision and through my research/reviews I found Dr. Sidle at NorthWestern University to perform my revision rhinoplasty. From the consultation until now (1 month post-op) he and his PA-C Erin have been accessible, attentive, caring, and professional. He has such a hardworking team, Erin is so organized and makes the day of surgery as easy as she can for each patient. She goes above and beyond to address any questions and concerns. At the first consultation, Dr. Sidle used computer imaging to help me visualize my possible results before committing to surgery. After seeing the simulator pictures of what my nose will look like post surgery I knew he was the one to perform my surgery. He not only focuses on the nose, but he takes into account your size, head shape, jawline, etc. so that he can ensure this nose job will be fitting for your whole. He explains everything so well in a way the patient can understand and uses the best analogies to explain/detail what he will be doing. He has a bedside manner that is empathetic and supportive. I appreciate all the time and hardwork from Dr. Sidle, Erin, and the rest of his team at Northwestern! My new nose fits perfectly with my face and looks very natural!
