In Germany, Wolfgang joined the German Shepherd Schutzhund Club, Verein fuer Deutsche Schaeferhund Rems-Wieslauf in 1978. At a young age, he began working with an old-fashioned dog trainer who taught him the importance of interpreting dog behaviors before taking on the responsibility of training one.
