I recently bought a house that was built by PJM developers. The house itself at first glance is beautiful. The longer we live in the house the more we find wrong. The biggest issue we have is that we are getting water in our basement which is fully finished. Even though we had the house inspected the inspector couldn't see everything since there was sheetrock and tile in the basement covering areas that would show signs of water. Now everything but the original foundation is brand new and after talking with the neighbors the former home owner before the remodel had a water issue in the basement and the builder never addressed it. There is one coat of paint on all of the walls in the house, i had to install a water line for the fridge because one was never ran there, the dish washer was drain line was not connected , the machine was only plugged in to the wall outlet. We had an initial issue with brand new roof leaking but luckily had the builder guarantee the roof in the closing. Stickers were left on majority if the appliances, sinks, and tubs which has left permanent stains, discoloring, and damaged finishes. Like i said the house is visually appealing but for amount of money we spent purchasing the home there should not be this many issues. We purposely were looking at nearly built and renovated houses to avoid having to do a lot of initial work to the houses. Unfortunately we got the short end of the stick having to put a lot more time and money into the house within months of purchasing the home. We are now being instructed by professionals that to fix the water issue in the basement would require a french drain system and another sump pump.
